In both tissues, hypothyroidism is associated with a marked reduction in the capacity to generate cAMP, but this is not completely restored even after 2 days of a receptor-saturating dose of T3. The injection of T3 to hypothyroid rats reverts the changes in beta 3-AR within 24 h, and T3 excess causes a greater than 90% reduction in beta 3-AR mRNA in BAT but a 5-fold increase in WAT. In contrast, both beta 3-AR number and mRNA levels are reduced in WAT of hypothyroid rats. BAT beta 3-AR number is increased, as are beta 3-AR mRNA (4- to 6-fold) and the relative contribution of these receptors to the maximal cAMP production. In BAT, beta 3-AR can account for as much as 50% of the maximal cAMP response to NE, whereas in WAT these receptors probably account for all the effect of NE. Generation of cAMP by brown adipocytes in response to norepinephrine (NE) and C元16,243 was measured by RIA. beta 3-AR messenger RNA (mRNA) was analyzed by Northern blotting of total BAT and WAT RNA. Receptor density was assessed with the nonselective beta 3-AR ligand -cyanopindolol (-CYP) and the highly selective beta 3-AR agonist C元216,243. We have examined, in BAT and WAT of rats, the effect of thyroid hormone on the expression of beta 3-AR and their contribution to cAMP generation. There is growing interest in these receptors because of their potential to be pharmacologically targeted to control energy expenditure and lipid accretion. Here is a study on T3 and beta-3 receptors.ĭepartment of Medicine, Lady Davis Institute, Jewish General Hospital, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.īeta 3-adrenergic receptors (AR) are predominantly expressed in brown (BAT) and white adipose tissue (WAT), being more abundant in the former. ****/ephedrine-and-beta-adrenergic-receptors.htm It explains all the roles of ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin and how they work togeather to combat the negative feedback loops involved. I have used this for months at a time, but the addiction that occurs goes away in a week for free since i quite cold turkey. ephedrine is also good for thyroid post cycle therapy b/c it helps convert t4 to t3. The t3 upregulates beta-3 receptors in white adipose tissue, and since 40+% of ephedrine's work is on the beta-3 receptors there is obvious synergy. The t3 is dosed at 1 mcg per mg of ephedrine or more if im on anything anabolic. I also use the caffeine and aspirin along with T3. Personally i always just start out at 75mg a day without any problems.

This was followed by an increase in ASMR in September 2019 (897.2 deaths per 100,000) and in September 2020 (946.2 deaths per 100,000). The ASMR decreased from 1,213.2 deaths per 100,000 people in September 2003, to a low of 867.6 deaths per 100,000 people in September 2018. In Wales, mortality rates for September were also generally decreasing over time, but these improvements stalled from September 2012 onwards, in line with previous findings on changing trends in mortality. This pattern in ASMRs over time was seen in both males and females (Figure 1). In September 2021, mortality rates significantly increased compared with the previous year, to 966.2 deaths per 100,000 people. This was followed by significant increases in ASMR in September 20 (840.7 and 885.5 deaths per 100,000 people respectively). In England, mortality rates for the month of September generally decreased over time from 1,157.1 per 100,000 people in September 2003 to a low of 794.0 deaths per 100,000 people in September 2018. This was 354 more deaths than in September 2020 and 489 more deaths than the five-year average for September (19.8% higher).Īge-standardised mortality rates (ASMRs) are used for comparisons over time rather than numbers of deaths, as ASMRs account for changes to the population size and age structure. In Wales, the provisional number of deaths registered in September 2021 was 2,964. The average for 2015 to 2019 provides a comparison of the number of deaths expected in a usual (non-pandemic) year. The five-year average has been provided for 2015 to 2019 (rather than 2016 to 2020) because of the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on deaths registered in 2020. This was 4,656 more deaths than in September 2020 and 7,215 deaths more than the five-year average (2015 to 2019) (19.4% higher). Death registrations and the overall mortality rate for September 2021īased on provisional data, there were 44,474 deaths registered in England in September 2021. The North East of England remained the English region with the highest ASMR for deaths due to COVID-19 in September 2021 (89.9 deaths per 100,000 people) for the second consecutive month all English regions except the North East and London had statistically significant increases between August and September 2021.Ģ. Taking into account the population size and age structure, the age-standardised mortality rate (ASMR) for deaths due to COVID-19 in England (64.4 deaths per 100,000 people) increased significantly for the third consecutive month the ASMR for deaths due to COVID-19 in Wales was 89.6 deaths per 100,000 people, significantly higher than in August 2021. The leading cause of death in September 2021 was dementia and Alzheimer's disease in England (accounting for 11.2% of all deaths) and ischaemic heart diseases in Wales (9.6% of all deaths).Ĭoronavirus (COVID-19) was the third leading cause of death, in September 2021, in England (accounting for 6.6% of all deaths registered in September) and in Wales (accounting for 8.5% of all deaths). While I wasn’t ahhhhhhh’ing in the F Sport seats with the cooled fans blowing, I found using Lexus’s infotainment center seemingly intuitive in nature but frustrating in practice. It was like cracking your own back or neck, and then visiting a professional chiropractor. I could feel the cool air blowing out from the perforated leather and onto my back with an abundance I hadn’t felt from our personal 2019 Honda Pilot Elite or from the previous week’s press car, the Volkswagen Atlas. It’s not the buttons that I found special, but enabling the cooled seats at full-chill in the RX 350 was the first time I had experienced what I could only describe as how cooled seats are supposed to feel. If I may go back to the seats again, the button for heating and cooling nicely tucked in front of the gear selector, almost as if Lexus didn’t plan for it and needed somewhere to put the buttons. It’s just a bummer that we’re still looking at an average in the teens in 2021 when my 7 seater 2019 Honda Pilot averages low 20’s with nearly identical powerplant on paper. That average is spot on to RX 350 F Sport’s advertised 19/22(mixed)/25 MPG rating. I averaged 19 miles per gallon with a good mix of highway driving and around town. The engine and all of it’s sound fed through the cabin stereo, sounded good to my ears. The 3.5 liter V6 produces an ample 295 horsepower and transfers it to the ground through an 8-speed auto trans. Peg the throttle to the floor from a stop and the RX 350 F Sport gallops to 60 MPH in the low’ish 7 second range. And that’s where the sensation of all performance ends and everything you’d expect from a Lexus sport utility vehicle begins. On the road, Lexus turns the pavement to glass but with Sport mode, the suspension firms up, all while somehow retaining that Lexus comfort, but also manages to substantially reduce lean through corners.Īnd holding me firmly in place are these uniquely F Sport seats…by far my favorite feature of the RX 350 F Sport Black Line Special Edition. It’s at this point where I always reach for the drive mode dial and twist it to Sport. Pushing the Start button, the 3.5 liter V6 fires to life with a mellow bellow at idle. The infotainment center, and the way the controls all wrapped around the driver set the driver oriented tone immediately. Grabbing the steering wheel, the gear selector, everything felt supple and premium. I found the driver’s seat to be infinitely adjustable and hugged my 180-pound, just-shy-of-6-foot-frame, like something out of proper sports car. It set the expectation that the RX 350 F Sport was going to deliver both performance and comfort. The contrasting white and black seats with blue stitching stand out as soon as I opened the door. Without looking at the RX 350 F Sport Black Line Special Edition on paper, those less familiar may assume similar performance to an X5/6 M. To summarize my feelings of the 2021 RX 350 F Sport Black Line Special Edition up front, I really enjoyed driving it up to the point I needed to interact with the infotainment system, or paused to digest the fuel economy stats. After delays and announcements have set up what the first half of 2024 looks like and Silksong is done or close to done, the game can launch to the open and unoccupied arms of waiting fans. Once Team Cherry has more information from Summer showcases, it can pick a time that isn't loaded with powerhouse Game of the Year contenders. This could be seen as an opportunity for Hollow Knight: Silksong to get its best possible release window. 2024 is practically a blank slate right now, aside from the possibility of Elden Ring's DLC launching then. Hollow Knight: Silksong could commit to releasing when it's done, which might get it into players' hands as soon as 2023, but then it could risk tripping over another massive game. Team Cherry staying silent for longer would continue to irritate fans, but after years of the same, it wouldn't inspire any new grievances. Add that on to games with vague 2023 windows like Mortal Kombat 12 and Armored Core 6, alongside whatever console manufacturers have planned for the holidays, and it seems like 2023 has no room left. After some outlets corroborated the leak with their sources, Fall 2023 began looking like a bad time to release any more big games. Starfield is set to release in September, but according to Venom actor Tony Todd, Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 is also lining up a September date. The back half of 2023 is loaded with games already, if various confirmed and rumored dates hold true. It may seem like Hollow Knight: Silksong is cleared for a June or Summer announcement followed by a Fall or Holiday release, but that's not the case. March through June is out of the question thanks to the presence of such titles as Resident Evil 4 Remake, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Street Fighter 6, Diablo 4, and Final Fantasy 16. Silksong showing up at any point in 2023 with its release date would almost certainly spark such a conflict. It would be preferable if it didn't have to compete with any major AAA releases, and fans with conflicting interests would probably agree. The truth is, even with so much hype and a large, existing fanbase, Hollow Knight: Silksong is still an indie game. The “dictionary definition” is simply a collection of wooden stalls that sell traditional Christmas foods and beverages, honey, jams, other delicacies, candy and chocolate, decorations, handmade toys, jewellery, and many other arts and crafts…all during the weeks leading up to late December (and sometimes beyond). (I may have exaggerated a little, particularly the number of candles.) There you have it: a Viennese Christmas market. Then spread it all out in front of a magnificent historical building. Now throw in the scent of baked potatoes, fresh bread, strudel, candied nuts, and more. Imagine crisp winter air, the glitter of a thousand candles, steaming mugs of punch, laughter, smiles, roasted chestnuts, the tinkle of glass baubles, and the delicate crafts of numerous artisans. The Christmas market goes by various names, but all tend to follow the same pattern… (The main entrance to the Christkindlmarkt in front of city hall) In early Southeast Asian sites, partial or whole skeletons of adult chickens were found placed in human graves. And according to the new study, as domesticated fowl spread across Asia and then throughout the Mediterranean along routes used by early Greek, Etruscan and Phoenician maritime traders, there was a clear pattern of the birds arriving several centuries before people started eating them. In addition to finding that a lot of bones were younger than previously thought, the researchers also showed that those 10,000 year old cock fighting bones were actually from pheasants.Īccording to the new analysis, the oldest bones of a definite domestic chicken were found in central Thailand and dated to between 1650 BC and 1250 BC.īased on the timing, which coincides with the rise of rice and millet cultivation in dry fields in that region, the researchers think domestication could have started when a few jungle fowl were tempted down from the trees and into human settlements by the abundance of free grain-sort of like the way the most docile wolves started hanging around human campfires.īut we know based on the archaeological evidence that people didn’t start eating chickens for meat for hundreds of years. They used radiocarbon dating to confirm the ages of 23 of the proposed earliest chickens found in western Eurasia and north-west Africa. The oldest signs of chicken bones that people had slaughtered and snacked on came from the ancient city of Maresha, which is in the Judean Lowlands and sat at the crossroads of trade routes for Egypt and Jerusalem during the Iron Age, peaking between 400 and 200 BC.īut in 2022, an international group of researchers called foul. There wasn’t any evidence of butchering that long ago, though, so some suggested the birds were bred for cockfighting, not for eating. Until recently, it was fairly widely accepted that people were breeding jungle fowl in Asia as far back as 10,000 years ago. It turns out that the origin of domesticated chickens is hotly contested. But in an effort to not just crib this one fantastic piece of reporting, I decided I’d pull a few random facts from farther back in chicken history. This fact started with an article called “How a shipping error 100 years ago launched the $30 billion chicken industry” by Kenny Torrella at Vox, which is as wild and interesting as it sounds. In the city of Per-Bast, a beautiful temple was built, and people came from all over to experience its splendor.Chickens were once exotic pets. Only one deity, the goddess named Bastet, had the power to become a cat. Cats were so special that those who killed them, even by accident, were sentenced to death.Īccording to Egyptian mythology, gods and goddesses had the power to transform themselves into different animals. Art from ancient Egypt shows statues and paintings of every type of feline. As a sign of mourning, the cat owners shaved off their eyebrows, and continued to mourn until their eyebrows grew back. To honor these treasured pets, wealthy families dressed them in jewels and fed them treats fit for royalty. Egyptians believed cats were magical creatures, capable of bringing good luck to the people who housed them. Dogs were valued for their ability to protect and hunt, but cats were thought to be the most special. Animals were revered for different reasons. Ancient Egyptians worshipped many animals for thousands of years. |
